Abstract
The question of the identity or nonidentity of tuberculosis and scrofula has long been a mooted point in the profession some pathologists considering them as two distinct morbid conditions while others confound them in one and the same affection Dr Arloing a wellknown experimental biologist in a communication lately made by him to the Academy of Sciences somewhat elucidated the subject butit still remains open as to whether the two affections in question have the same origin or not In a note addressed to the Academy about two years ago Dr Arloing endeavored to show by experimental researches that he had prosecuted with guineapigs and rabbits that while these animals were susceptible of being infected with pulmonary tuberculosis true glandular scrofula did not cause any visceral lesions in the latter He did not however feel justified in
