Abstract
A ternary binuclear complex of dysprosium chloride hexahydrate with mnitrobenzoic acid and 110phenanthroline DymNBA3phen2·4H2O mNBA mnitrobenzoate phen 110phenanthroline was synthesized The dissolution enthalpies of 2phen·H2Os 6mHNBAs 2DyCl3·6H2Os and DymNBA3phen2·4H2Os in the calorimetric solvent VDMSOVMeOH = 32 were determined by the solution–reaction isoperibol calorimeter at 29815 K to be Updelta texts H textmtheta 2phen·H2Os 29815 K = 217367 ± 03150 kJ·mol−1 Updelta texts H textmtheta 6mHNBAs 29815 K = 153635 ± 02235 kJ·mol−1 Updelta texts H textmtheta 2DyCl3·6H2Os 29815 K = −2035331 ± 02200 kJ·mol−1 and Updelta texts H textmtheta DymNBA3phen2·4H2Os 29815 K = 535965 ± 02367 kJ·mol−1 respectively The enthalpy change of the reaction was determined to be Updelta textr H textmtheta = 3 6 9 4 9 pm 0 5 6 textkJcdot textmol 1 According to the above results and the relevant data in the literature through Hess’ law the standard molar enthalpy of formation of DymNBA3phen2·4H2Os was estimated to be Updelta textf H textmtheta DymNBA3phen2·4H2Os 29815 K = −5525 ± 6 kJ·mol−1
