Abstract
We read the article by Domján et al 1 with great interest The authors have presented their experience of handassisted laparoscopic radical nephrectomy in a pregnant woman which is a great contribution to the literature 1 Recently minimally invasive surgery has jumped an age and thus laparoscopic urologic surgical procedures have become one of the most often performed surgical procedures in urology clinics worldwide 2 However even experienced laparoscopic urologic surgeons may not decide between two conditions whether to use an open or a laparoscopic procedure in the case of pregnant patients Surgeons should consider the foetus as well as the usual physiology of pregnancy Laparoscopic urological surgical modalities have been performed with increasing numbers during pregnancy Herein we reported laparoscopic retroperitoneal radical nephrectomy in a pregnant women with retrocaval renal artery as the first case in the literature according to our best
