Abstract
Organic geochemistry aims at studying the nature structure and chemistry of natural and anthropic organic matters in order to understand their mode of formation or their sources the processes that allow their transformation preservation or degradation during diagenesis and more generally their dynamics in natural and humanaltered systems In the field of geosciences this discipline constitutes a link between biosphere and geosphere The information provided by organic geochemical studies addresses issues as diversified as the past evolution of climates ecosystems and biodiversity the genesis of petroleum and coal pollutant dynamics the carbon cycle the origin of lifeThe conference greatly beneficiated from the support of ThermoFisher Total GéoHyd Elementar Vinci Technologies Schlumberger LE STUDIUM Conseil Régional du Centre Conseil Général du Loiret Mairie d’Orléans AgglO d’Orléans that helped covering housing and transport costs of young researchers and invited speakers We would also like to thank our institutions ISTO OSUC CNRS Orléans University BRGM for making this conference possible and are fully indebted to young researchers A Simonneau M Lavrieux N Bossard R Zocatelli and S Garel and academic staff of ISTO and OSUC S Bouquet N Rouchon R Boscardin F LeBihan MN Pailhes M Barbelenet and C Leroy
