Abstract
Endometriosis defined as functioning extraiuterine hyperplastic endometrial tissue is the second most common pelvic pathology in females and occurs at a prevalence of 15 This disease is usually seen in the ovaries fallopian tubes rectovaginal septum pelvic peritoneum and culdesac in the sequence of occurrence besides in extragenital organ involvement sigmoid colon dominates mostly about 38 Most intestinal lesions are asymptomatic but deeper and more extensive intestinal involvement may result in obstruction or intermittent hemorrhage and requires distinction from a neoplasm or other inflammatory bowel process This is extremely rare as demonstrated by this presenting case for extensive intraperitoneal endometriosis with clinical manifestations of bowel habit change hematochezia and abdominal vague pain presenting as acute abdomen eventually and carcinomatosislike appearance morphologically in celiotomy
