Abstract
Babesiosis is a tickborne illness that results in hemolysis and fever Tumor necrosis factor TNF plays a central role in the human response to babesia infection yet to our knowledge no case of babesiosis related to TNF antagonists has been reportedWe report here a 57yearold woman with a 26year history of colonic Crohns disease CD who presented to her primary care physician with fever 102°F and syncope preceded by a 4day history of fatigue sore throat and a dry cough Prior to this illness she had been feeling well busy gardening in Cape Cod Massachusetts She observed a number of tick bites over the preceding weeks but had no skin rash
