V LorenzoZúñiga J Boix M Mañosa C Lezcano E Cabré V Moreno de Vega E Domènech Local Injection of Infliximab in Symptomatic Isolated Mucosal Lesions A Novel Scenario for Endoscopic Therapy Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Volume 19 Issue 4 1 April 2013 Pages E59–E61 https//doiorg/101002/ibd23018Infliximab IFX has proven to be safe and effective for inducing and maintaining clinical remission of both luminal and fistulizing Crohns disease CD12 Recently some pilot experiences have reported the potential usefulness of local injection of IFX for the treatment of nonstricturing postoperative recurrence3 intestinal stenosis4 and perianal fistulas5 in CD thus suggesting its clinical benefit for symptomatic patients with limited bowel involvementHerein we report the outcome of four CD patients who were treated with locally injected IFX in compassionate use because of symptomatic isolated intestinal lesions In all cases an IFX solution was prepared according to standard procedures A total of 100 mg of IFX was added to 10 mL of distilled water and was gently shaken Then 2 mL 20 mg of this solution was added to 8
