Abstract

The byproducts formed in the preparation of strophanthiodol 19rhamnoside and 3 19bisrhamnoside by the orthoester method are 3β5dihydroxy819epoxy5β14β 17αcard2022enolide and its 3αLrhamnoside 3β5Dihydroxy819epoxy5β 14α17βcard2022enolide has been obtained by the action of a solution of HBr in nitromethane on strophanthidol
