From the epigeal part ofGenista compacta has been isolated the new isoflavone bioside compactin — C27H30O16 mol wt 610 mp 206–208°C α D 20 + 358° — for which on the baseos chemical transformations and spectral characteristics the structure of 7OβDglucopyranosyl1 → 2βDglucopyransyloxy3′4′5trihydroxyisoflavone or orobol 7Oβsophoroside has been established
