Abstract
The lychee stink bug Tessaratoma papillosa Drury Hemiptera Pentatomidae is widely distributed from India to China and widespread in South China it is an important pest of the longan Dimocarpus longana Lour and lychee Litchi chinensis Sonn leaving the leaves of these fruit trees shriveled blackened and otherwise damaged 1 2 The control of T papillosa is heavily based on chemical pesticides which may cause environmental contamination and destroy the ecological balanceA pheromone is a kind of chemical substance present in infinitesimal amounts and secreted by special glands that can be classified functionally into sex pheromone aggregation pheromone alarm pheromone trace pheromone and so on 3 In recent years many studies have identified the volatiles from this pest and the effects of their application in pest control in terms of insect forecast mating disruption mass trapping and others 4 5 To date for a few stink bug species attractant
