Abstract
Viburnum odoratissimum Ker Gawl belongs to the Caprifoliaceae family and is distributed in China 1 The leaves bark and roots of V odoratissimum are also called Zaoheshu in Chinese Phytochemical research shows that sesquiterpene glycosides iridoids iridoid glycosides diterpenes triterpenoids flavonoids flavonoid glycosides lignans phenylpropanoid glycosides and phenolic compounds have been isolated from V odoratissimum 2 3 4 5 6 Pharmacological investigations show that V odoratissimum has cytotoxicity 7 and antibacterial activity 8 No research has so far been conducted concerning the volatiles in flowers
