Abstract
We read with high interest the excellent work of Dr Ercan and coworkers on the current status of the adolescent care delivery and training in Europe 7 performed and published on behalf of the Union of National European Paediatric Societies and Associations UNEPSAUndoubtedly the paper gives a highquality update on adolescent medicine in Europe and it clearly shows large divergences among the various countries whether or not they are in the European Union EU 7 Epidemiological surveys also show large divergences in the adolescent health among European countries see for example Young people’s health in context Health Policy for Children and Adolescents 4 Altogether these data confirm inequalities in the health status in Europe and their association with socioeconomic parameters 9 As the authors stated 7 the situation has not improved since a previous survey performed about 15 years ago 3 suggesting that regulatory agencies or dedicated
