Abstract

Eleven pairs of simple sequence repeat markers SSR were developed from RAPD product in amphioxus Branchiostoma belcheri Fifty microsatellites were selected for designing microsatellite primers of which 11 gave working primer pairs They had between three and eleven alleles Observed and expected heterozygosities varied from 065 to 090 and from 059 to 086 respectively Five additional fish species of the vertebrates assessed for crossspecies amplification revealed between two and four positive amplifications and between zero and two polymorphic loci per species
