Abstract

Claus Leth Petersen Andreas Kjaer P325 Impact of medical treatment during one month on systolic blood pressure left ventricular systolic function and natriuretic peptides in patients with heart failure American Journal of Hypertension Volume 18 Issue S4 May 2005 Page 123A https//doiorg/101016/jamjhyper200503343A consecutive sequence of nonmedicated patients with a history of ischemic heart disease symptoms of heart failure NYHA IIIII and echocardiographically estimated left ventricular ejection fraction LVEF 040 were recruited All were characterized according to results of multiple ECG gated radionuclide ventriculography MUGA LVEF 050 when measured by MUGA was considered as heart failure A total of 16 patients fulfilled the criteria Blood pressure was measured before treatment and after 1 month of treatment All patients had a bloodsample drawn for analysis of ANP and BNP prior to medical treatment baseline After one month of treatment with diuretics and ACEinhibitors/ angiotensin II receptor antagonists MUGA and blood measurements of hormones was repeated
