Analysis of the reaction πSuperscript+/Superscr

Abstract

The difficulty in determining the total and the differential crosssections of the doubleresonance process π+p → ρ0Δ++ is discussed and a method of determining these is given which involves only few theoretical assumptions The total crosssection is 032±004 mb The joint decay angular distribution is analysed in terms of statistical tensor and density matrix elements The data are consistent with pion exchangeОбсуждается трудность при определении полного и дифференциального поперечных сечений процесса с двойным реэонансом π+p → ρ0Δ++ Приводится метод определения зтих сечений который включает лищь несколько теоретических предположений Полное поперечное сечение составляет 032±004 мб Аналиэируется угловое распределение совместного распада в терминах злементов статистического тенэора и матрицы плотности Полученные данные согласуются с пионным обменомSi discutono le difficoltà di determinare le sezioni d’urto totale e differenziale del processo di produzione associata di due risonanze di notevole larghezza come la reazione π+p → ρ0Δ++ e si propone un metodo che richiede soltanto un minimo di ipotesi La sezione d’urto totale così misurata risulta 032±004 mb Nel lavoro si studia anche la distribuzione completa della disintegrazione di entrambe le risonanze in termini sia di tensori statistici che di elementi di matrice «densità di spin» I dati sperimentali sono consistenti con un meccanismo di produzione a scambio di un pione
