Abstract
The decay of light pseudoscalar mesons into a lepton pair with the relativistic momentum space wave function wf of the meson is analysed It is shown that the real part of the decay amplitude is defined by the transition form factorF with the dependence of the meason wf The calculation ofF in the extreme static limit without knowing the explicit form of the wf is also considered We analyze the ratio of dispersive to absorptive parts for decay π0→e+e− Numerical calculations of the branching ratio Brπ0→e+e−/γγ=70·10−8 using the confinementtype wf of the π0meson are in good agreement with recent experimental data
