Abstract
Papillary thyroid carcinoma PTC accounts for nearly 80 of human thyroid cancers 1 Now the potential use of diagnostic biomarkers appears to be the most promising area of research In order to evaluate the efficacy of a biomarker one would need to take the sensitivity specificity positive and negative predictive value into consideration The tumor protein p53induced nuclear protein 1 and 2 TP531NP1 TP53INP2 axis inhibition proteins 2 AXIN2 and integrin alpha 3 ITGA3 were found to express differently between PTC tissues and their matching normal thyroid tissues 2 In medullary thyroid carcinomas TP53INP1 overexpression correlates with poor prognosis 3 TP53INP2 is a transcriptional coactivator of thyroid hormone receptors in mammalian cells 4 the downregulation of TP53INP2 was a characteristic event among prostate cancer patients 5 AXIN2 is a Canonical Wnt suppressor 6 ITGA3 is a potential marker protein for cells undergoing enhanced
