Donald S McLaren Abdullah A Kanawati The epidemiology of proteincalorie malnutrition in Jordan Transactions of The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Volume 64 Issue 5 1970 Pages 754–760 https//doiorg/101016/0035920370900180A Simple Scoring System previously devised in this Unit was applied throughout a 12month period on all admissions aged between 3 and 47 months to a hospital in Jordan Results for the incidence of three types of severe PCM in relation to sex age presenting illness clinical signs serum albumin and seasonal pattern of PCM and associated infections are presented Comparison with other schemes for defining PCM is made The results obtained provided information concerning various aspects of PCM which have hitherto not been documented
