Determination of total boron in sea water by atomi

Abstract

A method is described for the determination of boron in sea water Concentration by boiling followed by chelation and extraction with 2ethyl13hexanediol in methylisobutyl ketone facilitates the accurate measurement of boron content by atomic absorption spectrophotometry using a boron hollow cathode tube The values obtained are in excellent agreement with the standard colorimetric method using CarmineEin Verfahren zur Bestimmung von Bor in Meerwasser wurde beschrieben Nach dem Einengen der Probe wird mit einer Lösung von 2Äthyl13hexandiol in Methylisobuthylketon extrahiert Der Borgehalt dieser Lösung wird dann mit Hilfe der Atomarabsorption gemessen wozu man sich einer BorHohlkathodenRöhre bedient Die Resultate stimmen mit denen der Standardmethode mit Carmin sehr gut überein
