Abstract

It is always a challenge to accurately determine the appropriate extent of resection in breastconserving surgery BCS in order to reduce the need for reexcision prevent local recurrence and optimize cosmetic results Detecting intraductal spread alone with high sensitivity may not be enough to realize safe BCS Computed tomography carried out with the patient in the supine position accompanied by adequate marking is effective for preoperative determination of the optimum extent of BCS
