Abstract
The extraction kinetics of zirconium and hafnium from the mixtures of diisobutyl ketone DIBK and di1methylheptyl methyl phosphonate P350 were studied by using a Lewis cell The results show that the extraction of zirconium and hafnium fit with pseudofirst order reaction and the extraction kinetic of zirconium is governed by chemical reactions at bulk phase with activation energy E a Zr of −10412 kJ/mol while for hafnium it is proved to be controlled by mixedcontrol whose activation energy E a Hf is calculated to be −34362 kJ/molThe authors wish to thank the National Science Technology Pillar Program in the 12th 5year Plan of China 2012BAB10B10 National Natural Science Foundation of China 51174146 and 51374158 Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University NCET130941 Wuhan Chenguang Scheme established under Wuhan Science and Technology Bureau 2014070404010217 and the program for excellent young scientific and technological innovation team of Hubei Provincial Department of Education China T201506
