Abstract
The first set of nine microsatellite markers for the endangered sea urchin Strongylocentrotus nudus was developed from EST databases of S purpuratus Number of alleles per locus ranged from two to thirteen The observed and expected heterozygosities ranged from 0000 to 0645 and from 0063 to 0912 respectively These informative microsatellite markers will be useful in studies of population genetic structure for this species
