Abstract

Twelve compound microsatellite loci were isolated from the ambrosia beetle Platypus quercivorus Every locus was polymorphic among 50 individuals from two localities with two to six alleles per locus without linkage disequilibrium The observed and expected heterozygosities ranged from 0140 to 0740 and from 0255 to 0731 respectively These markers will be available for population genetic studies and parentage analysis of this beetle
