Abstract
This study introduces a method to calculate myocardium blood flow MBF and coronary flow reserve CFR using the relatively lowdose dynamic 320row multidetector computed tomography MDCT validates the method against 15OH2O positronemission tomography PET and assesses the CFRs of coronary artery disease CAD patientsThirtytwo subjects underwent both dynamic CT perfusion CTP and PET perfusion imaging at rest and during pharmacological stress In 12 normal subjects pilot group the calculation method for MBF and CFR was established In the other 13 normal subjects validation group MBF and CFR obtained by dynamic CTP and PET were compared Finally the CFRs obtained by dynamic CTP and PET were compared between the validation group and CAD patients n = 7Correlation between MBF of MDCT and PET was strong r = 095 P 00001 CFR showed good correlation between dynamic CTP and PET r = 067 P = 00126 CFRCT in the CAD group 23 ± 08 was significantly lower than that in the validation group 52 ± 18 P = 00011The scientific guarantor of this publication is Noriko OyamaManabe The authors of this manuscript declare relationships with the following companies Toshiba Medical Systems This work was supported in part by JSPS KAKENHI grant number 23591743 24591742 40443957 and 10292012 Banyu Life Science Foundation International and Japan Radiological Society Bayer Grant Yoichi M Ito kindly provided statistical advice for this manuscript Institutional review board approval was obtained Written informed consent was obtained from all subjects patients in this study Some study subjects or cohorts have been previously reported in European Congress of Radiology 2013 and Radiological Society of North America 2013 Methodology prospective diagnostic or prognostic study performed at one institution
