Abstract
In order to explore the application of organic conjugated small molecules in bioimaging novel functional chromophore with A–π–D–π–A structures chromophore OY2 was designed and synthesized To improve the water solubility of this conjugated molecule two carboxyl groups were introduced to chromophore OY2 in the electron acceptor parts Compared to the traditional D–π–A chromophores chromophore OY2 showed us great improvement in water solubility The solubility of chromophore OY2 in water could reach 300 ppm Else the thermal stability of chromophore OY2 was also studied Due to the presence of multicarboxyl groups the thermal stability of chromophore OY2 was not very good The initial decomposition temperature was just above 210 °C which was attributed to the dehydration of the carboxyl groups Though the SHG effect was not very high it is large enough for the detection of SHG signal in water solution 02–03 pm/V
