Abstract
In this study a new method to enhance the hydrophilic properties of TiO2 thin films coated on the glass was developed by Sn and La co doped thin films The effects of Sn 5–20 mol and La 5 mol co doped on the optical and hydrophilic were investigated The optical microstructure and hydrophilic properties of the thin film were studied using differential Uv–Vis spectroscopy Xray diffraction scanning electron microscope and contact angle measurement After 20 mol Sn and 5 mol La doped TiO2 thin film are superhydrophilic with water contact angle less than 192° Also the optical absorption spectrum indicates that the TiO2 have a direct band gap of 315 eV But optical band gap of the doped TiO2 was found to be 30–18 eV
